How to Detect Container Leaks with Vacuum
Decay Method?

Vacuum decay Container Closure Integrity Test (CCIT) is a deterministic, non-destructive leak detection method compliant with USP <1207>, ISO 11607, ASTM F2338 and FDA regulations, widely used in pharmaceutical, food and electronics sectors to guarantee packaging sterile barrier integrity and prevent product contamination.

Different from subjective bubble immersion tests relying onhuman observation, this technology adopts calibrated pressure sensors to produce objective, repeatable quantitative data. Under vacuum differential pressure, air inside defective packages leaks out through micro channels, and the recorded pressure drop identifies tiny leaks down to 1 μm. Labthink C690 series devices enable fast dry testing without damaging samples, allowing intact products to flow back to production lines and cut material waste.

This dry test avoids false positives from dissolved gas boiling in water-based tests. With dual-sensor structures, NIST traceable calibration and tamper-proof digital audit trails, it satisfies GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 data traceability requirements for audits.

It tests pharmaceutical vials, syringes, modified atmosphere food packs and electronic component foil pouches. As a high precision QC solution, vacuum decay testing minimizes packaging failure risks and meets strict global manufacturing compliance standards.
